The MK Labour Desk, in partnership with Sanforsawu and PCC, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to fighting unemployment by successfully hosting a Job Employment Opportunity Programme at Gandhi Park, Chatsworth Unit 5.
This initiative served as a direct follow-up to last week’s highly successful Job Seekers Registration Campaign, where hundreds of unemployed community members registered their details in the hope of securing meaningful employment. The promise made during that registration process was fulfilled today as employers arrived to conduct on-site interviews with registered job seekers.
The focus of today’s recruitment drive was on skilled machinists, who were invited to meet directly with factory owners and company representatives seeking experienced employees. Throughout the day, interviews were conducted at the venue, creating an efficient platform where employers could identify suitable candidates while job seekers had the opportunity to showcase their skills without the burden of travelling to multiple companies.
The response from both employers and the community exceeded expectations. Hundreds of machinists attended the recruitment programme, reflecting the determination of local residents to secure employment and improve their livelihoods.
The highlight of the day was the remarkable achievement of 200 job seekers being successfully employed by participating factory owners. These successful candidates are expected to commence work immediately, marking a life-changing milestone for many families who have been struggling with unemployment.
